So, this is it I guess… Starting yet another homepage that I will probably not maintain very well. Let’s see how it goes.
My last homepage was made with a (I think) now unmaintained page builder called “koken”. It was geared towards photographers with CMS systems and a Lightroom uploader. All quite nice stuff.
Eventually, after years and years of being abandoned and not updated by me, I checked back in on the server and noticed some strange and obfuscated PHP files in my website’s directory with significantly newer creation dates than the time I last touched the server. For safety reasons I opted to delete the entire container.
Even back then I kind of wanted to make another Website. I experimented with static page builders like Jekyll and writing my posts in Markdown, which worked but in the end was not as flexible as I wanted it to be.
Over time I grew more frustrated from the fact that my primary domain (which I have stickered on all my equipment as seen above, to boot), does not have a page on it.
Therefore, I recently took some time and figured out WordPress hosting on my server and went through the trouble to figure out themes, block builders and what is required to run a website like this in the EU due to GDPR, DSGVO, etc.
Maybe it was worth it… probably not…
